About HoiHoi: a Kolkata and West Bengal information platform. What we cover, where our data comes from (including OpenStreetMap for city directories), how to report a correction, and how to contact us.

How we check places

• Every place is checked to exist and to be open to the public in the way its page says, and its position is confirmed on a map.
• Military, port, railway and other operational sites, private homes and unsafe ruins are never listed.
• Opening hours, closing days and ticket prices are given only when they are known. When they are not, the page says so instead of guessing.
• Place pages carry no ratings, review counts or paid placements. Badges such as “hidden gem” are editorial and say only what the record says.
• All descriptions are written by HoiHoi. Nothing is copied from other publications or websites.
• Each place page shows the date the catalogue was last checked. Travel details change, so confirm before you go, and tell us when something is wrong.
